How do donations help?
Supporting Doulas
The work of doulas is an ancient profession however, today, they experience high rates of burn out. In a time when families need them the most, we want to lighten their load.
Donations help us organize the vital work doulas do, ensuring they can serve our community. This includes maintaining partnerships with local hospitals and birthing centers, serving as a hub of connection and resources and guiding doulas on how to enroll to accept MassHealth covered clients.
We invest in continued professional development and training, empowering doulas to provide the highest quality care. We also host workshops, educational events, and community outreach programs that promote birth education and community connections.
Supporting Families and Pregnany Individuals
Having support in different stages of pregnancy, especially labor, has proven to positively effect birth outcomes.
In recent years, those who are at higher risk for negative birth outcomes are those less likely to be able to have access to doula care.
We are building a robust network of resources for families, including educational materials, referral services and a scholarship fund to offer doula support to families or individuals who's insurance doesn't cover doula care or who are uninsured.
What does our support for families look like?
Prenatal Support groups
Being matched with a doula who will help prenatally, throughout labor and follow up with postpartum care.
Connecting to local resources and getting them to families such as mental health counseling, pelvic floor therapy, lactation consultants, diapers you name it!
Our future
Our dream is to create a system where doulas are matched with the people who need them with ease; to enrich doula practice through accessible mentorship and community-informed education, ensuring knowledge is passed down and grounded in real-world experience, and lastly, we aim to reduce high burnout rates by creating a sustainable community model for doula practice.
