A non-profit born from a state funded program
PVDC began as a state funded program, the first of it's kind, to connect resources to local doulas and to connect local doulas to undeserved families and individuals. Now as a 501 c3 we strive to continue what was stared. We are a collective of inspired doulas who strive to support each other as we support birthing families and individuals of all kinds in all stages of their journey. We offer full spectrum doula services including prenatal, labor and postpartum support. We strive to support families who are statistically effected by the short comings of standard maternal health care include BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and low income families and individuals.
Together, we are stronger and collaborate to hold a variety of resources for families to utilize throughout their journey. We support each other, new doulas, and those with established practices. We offer comprehensive workshops and mutual learning spaces where we, as doulas, can connect with local providers and long-standing mentors in the community. We maintain partnerships with local birthing centers and hospitals to ensure equitable access to doula services.
